Valentino Garavani

                                   Valentino Garavani was                                      born in Italy on 11th May,                                    1932.   From his early life, he was interested                                                                          in fashion desing.  As he moves to Paris, he                                                                                        studies at Fédération française de la couture which                                                                        is a famous fashion design school in Paris and École                                                                        des Beaux-Arts that is famous for fine arts to                                                                                    pursue his dream.  After graduating from those                                                                                schools, he starts working for Jean Dessès                                     who was one of those people influenced                                    Garavani to create one of the best houte                                                                            couture in the world.  Then, finallly,

 

 

 

                                                                       in 1959, he founds                                    .  In 1962,

 

he holds his very first fashion collection.  Around this time, his red dress becomes famous and soon it starts to recognize the red color as "Valentino Red."  In 1980s, he launches clothing line for young adults called "Olivier."  Also, he founds Academie Valentino in Rome, Italy.  However, in 1998, Garavani decides to give the ownership to Marozotto Apparel.  In 2000, Garavani recieves CFDA's Lifetime Acievement Award and it is the first time for people who are not American designers to recieve this award.  He presents the last Spring/Summer collection before his retirement in 2008.  Yet, he still actively involves after his retirement.  In 2011, he receives the Commandeur de l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres medal which is very famous award in France.
